The Annual Meeting of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology (ADSA) will be held April 28th -30th, 2011 at the Westin Kierland Resort, Scottsdale, AZ. This is the combined meeting of the world renowned ADSA and the American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists (ASDA). The welcome address will be presented by the leaders of both groups at this Annual Session by Dr. Karen Crowley President of the ADSA and Dr. Christine Quinn from UCLA , President of the ASDA.
I greatly look forward to attending this Annual Session and attending lectures by esteemed leaders in the field of Dental Anesthesiology and Dental Sedation. The primary emphasis will be to update all attending members on the newest information in Anesthesiology and Dental Anesthesia. This is information we will bring back to our respective anesthesia practices to more safely and effectively serve our patients.
This major educational conference is one of the highlights of my ever advancing education each year. Courses will also include a Human Simulation Course which will allow members to further enhance their skill in safe anesthesia practices.
In addition, the ADSA two-day sedation course for auxiliaries is conducted simultaneously with the General Anesthesia and Deep Sedation course. The twelve-hour course features an in-depth approach designed especially for those who perform oral and maxillofacial surgery as we do daily in our moderate sedation and anesthesia practice in Connecticut. This information is vital to ensure safety for all of us who will be bringing our team of auxiliaries to further advance their skills and training to assist me even more safely, while I am treating our patients.
In addition to an abundance of information pertaining to Preoperative Evaluation of our patients for Office-Based Anesthesia, an update on drugs used to induce safe anesthesia, preanesthetic cardiac assessment and safe treatment for patients who are alcohol dependent, the sessions will also address the Management of Special Needs Patients in an Office Based Anesthesia Practice.
All of these topics are important to me and our patients and I am honored to attend these sessions with such esteemed leaders in the anesthesia community.
